Central West Cereals - Les Ormes (Vienna)
Central West Cereals had to decide whether or not to maintain a site equipped with an old wooden silo from the 1930s located in the town centre.
Relocating the installations would have allowed more flexibility in the handling and storage system, but the decision was taken to prioritize the existing site and preserve a strategic railway branch line. Rapid train loading appeared to be a key success factor. Thought was then given to updating the site and improving its throughput.
At the beginning of 2015, CERES Agro-idustrie teams were asked to create a process diagram. This made it possible to simplify distribution circuits, to double reception capacity to 200 T/h and thus adapt to reduced harvest time, to update the dust removal system, renovate and upgrade the flow rate of existing handling facilities.
Ninety percent of our client’s needs have been met. The remaining 10% were not compatible with the site characteristics.
A series of plans were developed because solutions were both technically and financially complex.
Budget analysis was completed in the summer of 2015. The project was updated in autumn 2016 and the order validated at the end of 2016. Work is now in progress.
Central West Cereals has been a trusted customer for over 30 years.
